Nazi Scumbag Catholic Mutherfucking Bastards

THE CATHOLIC bishops last night pledged to “work closely with religious congregations and institutes in addressing the needs of survivors of abuse and in the healing process” following publication of the Ryan commission report last Wednesday.

However, in a statement following a day-long meeting of the Standing Committee of the Irish Bishops’ Conference yesterday, they made no reference to the controversial 2002 church/State redress deal.

Earlier yesterday the Catholic primate Cardinal Seán Brady, Archbishop of Dublin Diarmuid Martin and Bishop of Killaloe Willie Walsh said the deal should be revisited and the 18 congregations concerned should contribute more.

On Sunday a similar call was made by Bishop of Down Noel Traenor and by Fr Tim Bartlett, general assistant to Cardinal Brady.

Responding to these calls in a statement yesterday afternoon, the 18 religious congregations indicated they would not be revisiting the 2002 deal. They said that “rather than re-opening the terms of the agreement reached with government in 2002, we reiterate our commitment to working with those who suffered enormously while in our care. We must find the best and most appropriate ways of directly assisting them. We will meet again in the coming days to explore the detail of our responses”.

They were supported by the Conference of Religious of Ireland (Cori) which, in a separate statement, said it “supports the 18 congregations whose institutions were investigated by the Ryan report in their efforts to find the best and most appropriate ways forward”.

What more can I say?

Nazi Scum.

Uncle Ben does it again

Condoms are to blame for aids. We should, of course, have spotted it sooner. It was staring us in the face. Thanks Ben for pointing out the obvious.

Other things that the Catholic Church has taken the trouble to notice for us:

Women are responsible for unemployment in Ireland (John Paul II)
The Holocaust never happened (Bishop Richard Williamson)
The best excuse for being in the Hitler Youth is "everyone else was doing it." (Benedict XVI)
It's ok to abuse children (Christian Brothers and priests in general)

Police State II: Return of the Idiots

During all of this chaos the police allowed people to walk around in the area as if nothing was going on.

Police State

More police than ever on the streets of Paris. Convoys of Robocop-style riot police criss-crossing the city all day. Sirens blaring at all hours of the day or night. Citizens expected to leap out of the way of coppers on the beat or risk being shoved and provoked into an arrestable offence. Ignorant, arrogant officers badmouthing the general public on a daily basis. Ridiculous response times.

Crime rate rising.

English Terrorism against Iceland

What is terrorism?

Terrorism is a criminal act that influences an audience beyond the immediate victim. The strategy of terrorists is to commit acts of violence that draw the attention of the local populace, the government, and the world to their cause. The terrorists plan their attack to obtain the greatest publicity, choosing targets that symbolize what they oppose. The effectiveness of the terrorist act lies not in the act itself, but in the public’s or government’s reaction to the act.

The UK government's decision to put Iceland on the terrorist list is in itself a terrorist act.

Fuck the UK Government.

Ireland of the unwelcomes

MARCH

• An Indian tourist complains of harassment and racial discrimination at Dublin airport, prompting letters of concern between Tourism Ireland and the Department of Arts and Tourism over "another immigration shock story".

• A diplomatic row breaks out between Ireland and Brazil over the detention in Mountjoy Prison of three students who were refused permission to enter the State via Dublin airport. The case becomes national news in Brazil, leading to a bomb threat at the Irish embassy in Brasilia.

APRIL

Gardaí say they believe the men intended to travel to Britain or Northern Ireland.

• Representatives of English-language schools complain of inconsistent procedures at ports of entry after a Brazilian education agent who came to attend an international conference to promote Ireland as a destination for foreign students reports being harassed by officers.

The Apocalypse is upon us

Producer Timbaland has been chosen to receive an award from Ireland’s prestigious Trinity College Dublin. The Apologize hitmaker will be inducted into the school’s Philosophical Society as an Honourary Patron. The society’s 300-year-old tradition involves picking individuals to pass on their knowledge to students.

Philosophical Society president Barry Devlin tells Allhiphop.com, "Timbaland is a remarkable individual whose contribution to music is simply astonishing.

He is the most sought after producer on the planet. It is a real honour for us to host such an accomplished musician. The (members of the) Society are very much looking forward to Timbaland’s arrival."

Previous recipients include U2 frontman Bono, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, authors Salman Rushdie, Bram Stoker and Oscar Wilde.

Bono, Tutu, Rushdie, Stoker, Wilde and Timbaland in the same sentence?
TCD has lost its senses.
